Michele made a quilt featuring triangles for sale to benefit the HPTHP. A display of the Chicago Geese quilt for one of the families' homes was also featured.
Camille writes: "On the weekend of June 20th, nine members swooped into Danville for our Summer Guild Retreat. As always we are a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes I feel that our vim and vigor is somewhat overwhelming for our fellow quilting groups. As other groups finished beautiful quilts from traditional samplers and quilt kits, our group dazzled the room with unique and improvisational projects. Cheryl had her abstract piece of African and repurposed fabric, Pat brought 50,000 t-shirts to turn into quilts and Andrea worked on a quilt with skulls looking back at its admirers. [Andrea adds: "And we can't forget Camille's latest striking New York Beauty red, white and blue patriotic quilt project."] We also did not disappoint with our insatiable appetites. We had enough food to feed an army. We not only had second breakfast, but second lunch and second dinner. Andrea and I even grilled Saturday night's feast. At which time a significant atmospheric wind event was experienced. I was quite overwhelmed. We're grateful we didn't get blown away to Kansas! Overall we made good progress on our projects, as always enjoyed the company and look forward to the next opportunity to escape into our creativity. And we even made time for relaxing with coffee in Mae's Garden." |
