If you are going to be in New York City this spring or summer, you might want to check out this quilting themed exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art:
American Quilts and Folk Art
July 17, 2015–August 7, 2016
This exhibition features eight quilts—all recent additions to the Museum's outstanding quilt collection, only one of which has been shown at the Museum before. The display also includes a selection of folk painting and furniture from The American Wing's collection, as well as two important paintings by Edward Hicks (American, 1780–1840), on loan from the Peter J. Solomon Family Collection.
The current group of quilts will remain on view through January 8, 2016, at which time a new selection of quilts will be installed. The second rotation will be displayed through August 7, 2016.
