The deadline to submit your quilt entry forms to exhibit at the Lakeside Quilting Guild/United Church of Hyde Park annual quilt show has been extended to February 22, 2019. An entry form and the information/instructions for exhibiting are attached for your convenience. Please read the information/instructions carefully, since the address to which you send your forms is different this year! And don't forget to include your check for the entry fees of $5 per quilt (made payable to United Church Hyde Park). If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. (The February 12th meeting will be held at the Augustana Lutheran Church at 5500 S Woodlawn. There is a nice parking lot and no stairs. Enter from Woodlawn. Walk west from the parking lot to the door to the church. The meeting room is all the way to the back. It’s the same location that we had our Yours, Mine and Ours presentations. We will have a hands-on Workshop on English paper piecing using hexagons, presented by our own Cheryl. . You should bring pins, needles, a pin cushion, dark and light thread and scissors. Fabric hexagons and hex paper templates will be supplied, as well as wool felt backing to complete one coaster. You are welcome to bring your own fabric and felt if you want to. 6:30PM - snack & chat 7PM meeting starts Agenda items for the business portion of the meeting: Treasurer’s report Update on the Quilt show Update on the Cook County Display IQF Entries - 3 Blue & White Guild Quilts Scholarship Monthly raffle Show & Tell Raffle Baskets for the Quilt Show Categories this year are (Batiks, Wine & Cheese, Stationery, Fat Quarters, Yarn, Flannel - new category this year) We need someone to be in charge of each basket to help gather up fabrics and baskets to be used. The baskets will be assembled at our March 12th meeting at the United Church of Hyde Park. Last Call - please let us know if you made a block for either the Sampler quilt or the Indigo Churn Dash quilt. We are submitting the applications on Saturday, Feb 9 after they are appraised. |
