Karen Musgrave is a multi-media artist, teacher, lecturer and author. Her development as an artist has
been animated by an impulse to explore different mediums, the study of cultures, interactions with nature
and being blessed with an active imagination.
She was the first person to curate an exhibition of quilts from Gee’s Bend Alabama that traveled outside the
US to Georgia, Armenia and Kazakhstan. She was a consultant for the PBS documentary “Why Quilts
Matter”. Her interest in international connections in Quilting compliment the Guild’s recent
presentations on quilting in Africa, China and, next month, Israel.
Karen will “bring a big suitcase of stuff to share”.
The management team met to discuss locations for our sit-n-sew Tuesdays (the non-formal meeting weeks) and formal meetings. We are going to try several spots to decide what works for us and what doesn’t until we can find a permanent or semi permanent location. We are not sure when and if we will be able to use the TI location in the future. If the university decides to put a new grocer in, it will take 6 months to a year to open and they may end up having plans for the lower level.
We will be reaching out to several locations in Hyde Park to see if they can host us.
